Foreign documentsIn Mexico the official language is Spanish, thus the necessity to have all foreign language documents translated in said official language. Documents must be translated by an official translator who was recognized as having the proper qualifications to translate a document in a given language by the Superior Tribunal of Justice in Mexico or by the proper Authority in any given country. Once the document has been translated one must get the validation of the signatures, in a country which has the Common Law system one must use the services of a "Notary" and in a country where Roman Laws principals exist one must present the documents to a "Notario Publico", Notaire or to an "Agent a l'assermentation". A United Nation convention establishes that any foreign document must either be validated as a legal document where it will be used or receive the " Apostille" seal. To do this one must present the document to the authority which will provide the "Apostille" or the validation. To find out the procedure one must contact the Mexican Consulate in his region.
